I don’t think I’ve ever talked about my life in Hawaii here before… I was just doing some Monday night Facebook creeping and saw my friend Amanda and Joe’s honeymoon pictures from Hawaii (looked amazing!) and then went back to my pictures from Hawaii because it made me miss it so much.
Hawaii is an amazing, magical place. ‘Paradise’ really is the perfect way to describe it. Somehow, my best friend from growing up – Mary and my good friend from Merrimack – Jen, finagled a way to ‘study abroad’ in Hawaii for a semester in college. I literally still can’t believe we all convinced our parents to let us go. Genius!
We had the best time ever living in Waikiki, going to school in Honolulu, learning to surf, hiking, visiting beautiful waterfalls, spending time on the beach every day and ‘weekending’ in Maui (well one weekend, but ‘weekending in Maui’ just sounds so much better). I even met one of my most favorite people in the world, Jack Johnson which truly was a dream come true. It was one of the most memorable times in my life and I will never forget it. I haven’t been back since, but really look forward to the next time I can visit.
A few highlights:

Thanks to keeping in touch with a family friend, I found the house my Grammy and Poppa lived in for three years while my grandpa was in the Navy!
Oh I miss it!
My kindness today: My friend Jess and I decided to treat our team at work to a Starbucks run in order to start the New Year off right!

haha i still don’t know how you finagled it either! i had such an awesome time visiting you guys! once in a lifetime experience!

“you think you can surf it for real?” … “I dated you, drew. I can do anything.” the pipe masters pic made me think of that.. Teehee! Maybe I can finagle a way to do this as well next year!
Amazing “Blue Crush” reference… Love it. And I love that you studied abroad in Hawaii. You are a total genius. Beautiful pictures!
Surf’s up on the North Shore Bro…
You must have really caught us at a weak moment, lol!! Actually I knew it would be an amazing experience& was so delighted that you&Mary had this opportunity to be together…I also was so happy that you actually got to be able to experience PearlHarbor on its actual anniversary and walk around and meet survivors, that alone was worth the ticket price!
