MLK Day (And 100 Days of Kindness, Day 78)

I’m pretty sure getting pulled over on your way home from a long day at work at 7:15pm (on a Monday no less) should be totally against the rules. Its like walking outside, having a bird poop on you and then getting struck by lightning. Ok, that’s a little dramatic, but still… it happened to me today and it stunk.

Usually I drive fast, I’m not gonna lie, but that was not my offense tonight. My front drivers side light is out. LameO. Anyway, the cop was very nice (luckily) and only gave me a warning. And since Colin is my best friend in the world he said he would fix it for me tomorrow. Thank you buddy!

On another note, today we celebrate a special man.

Happy MLK Day. :)

My kindness today: I said a peace for peace and acceptance. Growing up in a Catholic family, going to Catholic school, I’ve heard my fair share of prayers. Many have stuck with me, quite a few I’ve forgotten some of the words. However, the Serenity Prayer will remain one of my favorites and most meaningful {I’ve included the first few lines which we used to say before every Chemistry class in high school haha}. Even if you aren’t Catholic, or religious for that matter, I think these words can ring true to most of us. Especially today.

The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Amen.
