Hey, It’s OK…

Photo courtesy of the lovely blog, Design is Mine

…to immediately put on a pair of sweats when you get home from a long day of work
…to be mad when you see someone with two free hands, talking on a headset (come onnn)
…to love a movie you swore you were going to hate
…to be disappointed when your lunch order gets messed up
…to be ridiculously excited for Amanda Knox’s memoir
…to be a nerd
…to have a love/hate relationship with money
…to practice your Academy Award acceptance speech (even if you don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of ever coming close to winning one)
…to play rock, paper, scissors with your significant other in order to choose what you’re going to watch on TV
…to wanna dance with somebody

Colin and I are off to Vermont after work today (wish us luck in the ski / school vacation / President’s Day weekend traffic, please!). We have lots of wedding stuff to do tomorrow at Stratton which I am very excited for! Will have to do a wedding update type post soon…

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. :)

Hey, It’s OK…

…to believe in signs (I’m pretty sure I got one from my Nana last night)

…to get your hopes up (hey, it’s hard not to do sometimes)

…to only pay attention to the Super Bowl because either A: you’re very interested in winning your office’s pool, B: you love the snacks or C: the commercials, duh

…to truly love and appreciate the fact that the Improper Bostonian is free

…to count down the hours…minutes…seconds…to the start of the weekend

…to melt at the sound of a southern accent

…to  treat yourself to lunch on a Friday afternoon (I’m talking to you, delicious turkey sandwich with lettuce tomato and pickles on toasted bread)

…to hope Madonna sings her old classics and not all new shizz we don’t know the words to yet

…to be sad for Demi Moore

…to to be scared of the word ‘change’. But…to also be excited, happy, nervous, ready, etc. That word can conjure up a million different things for all different people

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you have a wonderful Super Bowl weekend. Eat lots of great food and enjoy lots of great company. :)

Side note, if you’re not a member of Eversave yet and are interested in signing up, let me know. I have some special Friends and Family codes to give out worth $5 each ($5 off? Not too shabby!). Email me at dailycraic@gmail.com if you’re interested!

Happy (almost) Valentine's Day!

Hey It’s OK…

…to laugh out loud at a funny IM, email, text, etc. – at work, in a quiet area (oops)

…to wish you still wore a uniform every day (I did K-12!) – the outfit selection process in the morning would be much easier!

…to waste spend hours and hours on Pinterest (oh, was I supposed to be doing something productive?)

…to have to force yourself to go to the gym

…to screw up

…to buy yourself a coffee in the morning and afternoon (only on very special days)

…to be excited about staying in on a Friday night

…to believe that Twitter = the news

…to cheat on your ‘healthy eating plan’ on the weekend

…to only like fortune cookies because of the fortune

Happy Friday! Tonight Colin and I get to babysit my wonderful nephew Declan (so if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you’ll most likely see a picture…or ten…of my little guy). I’m so excited to just get some sushi, watch the Celts and hang out with my boys.

What are you up to this weekend? Hope you have a great time with whatever you do!

Hey, It’s OK…

…to freak out.

…to be very, very, very excited for Thanksgiving.

…to think the Kardashian Klan is kompletely krazy, but also secretly think they’re pretty damn smart (hey, they’re the ones getting paid to shop, chat, dress up and go out on the town — they ain’t sittin’ in a cube all day!)

…to change your hair color with the seasons.

…to have a light lunch so you feel okay about stuffing your face for dinner.

…to be sad that Regis is leaving — it’s the end of an era.

…to also be sad that Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are getting a divorce. I thought they were one of the good celebrity couples (is there such a thing?). You screwed that one up Ashton!

…to cry during holiday commercials (they’ll get ya!)

…to wish you could wear sweatpants to work some days (especially when it gets really cold!)

…to prefer reading physical books vs. reading them electronically (and vice versa).

I’m off to the North End for dinner tonight and Mohegan Sun tomorrow – woop woop! Hope everyone has a great weekend. :)

Hey, It’s OK…

… to have a quarter life crisis. We’ll get through it, people.

… to truly believe that your life will change when you buy a scratch ticket. “I wanna be a millionaire so friggin’ baaad”…

… to go for a harmless afternoon snack at the vending machine and literally want to eat everything in there.

… to pick and choose what you donate to. We all want to help, but we’re not all made of money.

… to be pissed that Modern Family didn’t have a new Halloween episode this year (I mean, come on – it’s Claire’s favorite holiday!)

… to give some dude you’re not interested in at the bar, the phone number 867-5309 (tell him your name is Jenny while you’re at it).

… to have a glass of wine (or two) on a Thursday night for the pure fact that you’re just so happy the next day is Friiiday!

… that your heart melts a little anytime you hear an accent – Southern, Irish, Australian…Vermont…? (Hey, I’m engaged to a Vermonter – what do you want from me?!)

… to be a 25 year old woman and not be ashamed that you’re extremely excited for the newest Twilight movie to come out.

… to expect each wish you make at 11:11 (AM and PM) to come true today. If not on 11/11/11 then when?

Happy Veterans Day and a special thanks to all our soldiers who have defended and will continue to defend our country – past, present and future. We owe so much to you!

Also Happy Friday and Happy 11/11/11 – have a great weekend. :)

A happy camper

Turns out, camping?…Not toooo shabby! In fact, it’s actually a damn good time! As a first time camper I was a bit hesitant. I was nervous about the bugs (mainly spiders), worried about not sleeping well, and with the forecast calling for lots of thunderstorms all weekend – definitely scared it was going to rain the whole time. But guess what? Bugs weren’t that bad, I slept better than I thought and we totally lucked out with the weather.

Turns out camping isn’t so much about the bugs and “not being in your own bed” situation, it’s more about having fun with friends, (lots) of (good) food, (lots) of (good) beer, and enjoying the beautiful summer weather.

Ladies and gents…I think I shall camp again.

Enjoy some pictures I stole (*with permission :) ) from Miss. Rose!

100 Days of Kindness, Day 69

A few things I wanna share with you:

This adorable video (that I stole off of Casey’s Facebook page – thanks!)

And this article by Ryan O’Connell, “How to be a 20-Something” – it’s great. Reminds me that I have to fully enjoy my 20′s while I can! That’s why Colin and I are going out with our friends tonight. Drinking and dancing? Yes, please!

My kindness today: Megan and I had a basketball game to coach today. I had to wake up at 7:30am on a Saturday morning because of it. That’s kindness I’ll tell ya!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. :)

The countdown is on…

It is officially 3 weeks from today till Meg and Matt’s wedding in Ireland! I can’t believe it’s coming SO soon now – it’s gonna be a blast!!! On that note, I went to the gym tonight because I truly need to be good these last few weeks – it’s crunch time baby. I’m wearing a strapless dress and my guns gotta look good you feel me?

Quick post tonight, because I am exhausted due to the Celtics

The weekend was great – Friday night a bunch of us went to Sissy K’s after work to enjoy some classy $1.50 drafts along with a dance party, felt like I was in college again. It was fun and I was even in bed by midnight, gotta love it. Saturday Colin’s parents were down helping Colin’s sister Liz move into her new apartment, so Colin and I went over to help. What a beautiful place it is! She is going to have a great time!

Afterward, we went to dinner downtown to Grill 23. It was beautiful and delicious! I ordered the Prime Flatiron steak au poivre which came with potato, cheddar & saucisson gratin – YUM. We also got mac n’ cheese, broccoli gratin, pomme frites and mashed potatoes as sides along with some red wine. We were all so full when we left! Such a lovely evening.

Sunday we went to mass and then I headed up to Andover to help Meg with some final wedding things. I literally can not believe it’s so close now! We had a nice afternoon/evening. Meg even fed me dinner and dessert, such a good big sister! I was so hungry I didn’t catch a picture of my dinner, but here is the amazing dessert Meg whipped up.

mmm mmm good

Lady was so excited to see me, and vice versa – I miss that little bugger! She recently got shaved (because she basically had dreadlocks…) so I have included ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures – just like when I got my hair done a few weeks ago. I think she might look a little funnier than me?! Maybe not…. haha :)

Before -

Shaggy and dreadlocked

After -

Hahaha poor Lady!

Little ratdog

I still love you Lady <3

Goodnight!

Lots o’ flowers

We had such a wonderful weekend at Colin’s grandpa’s house. Always a ton of laughs when we’re all together! Saturday we did some gardening (I learned that I have a natural talent for aerating soil.) We took lots of pictures of flowers (Mrs. T and I were snapping away.) We then had a bbq with delicious food and plenty of vino – yum! Today we went to church (ancient priest = looong mass) then had a lovely breakfast and got to visit with some of Colin’s grandmother’s sisters (great aunts?), it was very nice to see them and get to visit for a while. :)

Colin and I made it back just in time to watch the Celtics DOMINATE! Praise Jesus they won!!! Let’s keep it up boys. Back to beantown Tuesday – woopwoop.

Here are some of my pictures from the weekend. I got to play around with my new camera a little bit -

Is there anyone out there who WASN’T born in May?

First and foremost – HAPPY (belated, only on the blog though!) BIRTHDAY to my AMAZING older sister, Meg!!! I love you so much. I have and always will look up to you because you have always been the perfect role model. I hope you had a great day.

Back in our youth

I love you!

Meg’s birthday was this past Monday, May 10th. We celebrated Sunday night with Matt and his family in NH – we had a lovely dinner and a delicious cake! Monday morning I didn’t have to go into work until 10am (started the new job!) so I took Meg to breakfast at the Lantern Diner in Andover. It’s a really cute, little place – you truly feel like you’re in someone’s kitchen.

I got Meg a turquoise sun dress with a gold necklace + bracelet + sandals to tie it all together as well as a really cute green + white striped bikini with gold embellishments. All to be put away and saved for Meg and Matt’s honeymoon in Greece! So excited for them. :)

Now, tomorrow is my wonderful Father, Kevin’s birthday! So HAPPY BIRTHDAY POPS! I love him so much and could never even begin to thank him for all that he does for me and continues to do for me. I truly am a lucky lady.

Dad and I dancing at Catie and Chris' wedding!

Mom, Dad, Molly and her BFF (and Mescall favorite) Meghan are coming up to MA tomorrow to celebrate both Meg as well as Dad’s birthdays and to attend Meg’s NH wedding shower on Saturday. Tomorrow night we’re going out to dinner somewhere in Andover and Saturday we’ll be going to dinner somewhere in Newburyport (where my parents are staying…) Should have some excellent food to talk about over the weekend! I’m hoping to try something new!

So I must apologize for 150% slacking on the blog. I have been having such a tough time balancing everything. I often feel as though there are not enough hours in the day. Then I feel guilty because there are people working who have children and a house to take care of, or there are people legitimately saving the world and here I am complaining because I work, I have to buy some gifts or run some errands and then I don’t have the energy to blog. Well, enough is enough! I really enjoy blogging and I’m gonna make it happen. I’m putting together some sort of schedule. I need to please the people! (Are there any ‘people’ out there I am aiming to please?)

Sometimes I get a little carried away (‘Carried away’ reminds me of SATC which reminds me HOW EXCITED I AM FOR THE MOVIE fyi) with how much I write for each blog post, so this is my warning to my fabulous readers: posts will probably be shorter. I am going for quality not quantity I guess. Something like that. Why? Because I am the boss of this blog. And.I.Say.So.

PS. I started my new job on Monday. I felt like it was the first day of school. It has been amazing so far and I truly am loving it. Everyone is friendly, helpful and easy-going. It seems like a great atmosphere. I am excited and extremely interested in the work I am doing. I feel as though I definitely made the right decision. I also feel like I finally have some direction in my life (at least career-wise!) It’s taken some time, but I feel as though I’m on to something… I like this feeling…

Don’t have plans this weekend?

Must go to the SOWA Vintage Market. It opens this weekend and will run most weekends into October.

It sounds amaaaaazing and all their info is listed on their website. Check it out!
